  • Elaine S.

Busy retail Store Owner, Elaine, was stopped in her tracks due to severe pain, stiffness, numbness, and inability to use her hands to work or care for herself. She had difficulty sleeping and picking up her 2 year old granddaughter because of the significant pain and weakness she was experiencing in her hands and wrists. Elaine was suffering from multiple stage IV trigger finger in her left hand, bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, and Raynaulds Syndrome. Following successful treatment at NOVA Hand Therapy Center, Elaine is now able to work and play with granddaughter without difficulty or pain. She is able to go to work and perform all work duties with ease and was able to avoid surgical intervention thanks to the highly skilled therapists at NOVA Hand Therapy Center!

  • Katherine A.

A traumatic and severe left wrist injury occurred when Katherine's wrist was forcefully hyperextended; leading to a completely disabled and non functional left upper extremity. She presented to NOVA Hand Therapy Center after keeping her wrist and hand immobilized in a brace for 6 weeks. She was emotional, in severe pain, stiff, weak with visible muscle atrophy in her left forearm, and unable to care for her 2 young children or the upkeep of her home including cooking and cleaning. She was diagnosed with a ligament tear and tendonitis in her left wrist and forearm. Treatment progressed however she had a set back when she attempted to overdo house chores. This didn’t discourage Katherine, she made tremendous progress and 100% recovery in a few short months. She was discharged from NOVA Hand Therapy Center with no pain, completely restored strength and full functional use of her left arm. She couldn’t be more happy to care for her kids or her home and has returned to prior level of function thanks to NOVA Hand Therapy Center!

  • Olga G.

Olga came to NOVA Hand Therapy Center following a hyper-abduction thumb injury that caused a UCL ligament tear in her left thumb. She was in extreme pain and unable to move her entire left hand or use it functionally. Olga is a healthcare professional herself and had difficulty performing work duties and was unable to care for her 2 young children. A custom thumb opponens splint was fabricated for Olga to wear full time for 4 weeks while we addressed the other limitations in her uninvolved digits and wrist while we focused on specialized swelling reduction and tissue healing techniques. Olga was fortunate enough to avoid surgery and was discharged from NOVA Hand Therapy Center with no pain, full range of motion, and restoration of strength in her left hand and wrist (she is now stronger on her left hand than right dominant hand!!). She no longer has functional limitations and has happily returned to her prior level of function at work and home. Great result Olga!

  • Owen L.

Owen suffered a traumatic forearm laceration at work while using a circular saw. This accidental injury resulted in deep tendon and nerve lacerations of his left thumb and forearm. He underwent 2 surgeries to repair his tendons and nerves and required extensive immobilization and multiple custom fabricated splints for left left wrist and thumb. Owen was unable to return to work on full duty for several months. He was dedicated and motivated to do well in therapy and exceed in his therapy goals and that he did! Owen was discharged exactly 5 months after his injury with full functional strength, motion, near full sensation. He is back to work full duty and no longer reports limitations in his left upper extremity. He is very pleased with his outcome and thanks NOVA Hand Therapy for all their hard work!

  • Thank you for helping me. I wasn’t getting better until you told me what to do and helped me know how to approach my health care.

    Brett S

  • My son came to Nova Hand Therapy with one of the most severe tendon injuries you can have to a finger. We saw Dana two days after surgery and she clearly explained to him what he could expect in treatment and what he had to do daily at home and school. Dana was wonderful at explaining why he had to do each exercise and how it would benefit him and improve his mobility and strength. Twelve weeks later, with a lot of encouragement from Dana, my son has recovered full range of motion. I would recommend Dana to anyone I knew who needed hand therapy.

    Heather L.

  • I cannot thank you enough for working with me, encouraging me and being patient with me, I never thought I would be able to use my hand again and I am doing things I wouldn’t have dreamed I would be able to do!
